Biographical history

The Committee was formed to raise funds in memory of Lord Florey (1898-1968), winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, 1945, and a key figure in the development of Australian National University, particularly the John Curtin School of Medical Research.

There are minutes and correspondence for both the national and ACT committees of the Florey Memorial Fund which was administered in conjunction with the Royal Society in London. The last item is a box of unsorted receipts and letters which accompanied donations.
