The Archives database includes information about all deposits in the Noel Butlin Archives Centre, all series in the University Archives, and all the organisations and people who created them. 50% of item lists are on the database as at May 2015. Records relating to the Pacific are subject-tagged as ‘Pacific Research Archives’. For advice on searching, select Help under Quick Links which is at the top of each page of the database.
The database uses the ICA-AtoM (Access to Memory) software based on the International Council on Archives standards for archival description.
The archives can be viewed by visiting our reading room in Canberra. Some items have been digitised and can be accessed by links in their descriptions on the database. For more information about the Archives, visit our website at archives.anu.edu.au.
Members of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are advised that the catalogue and the archives may contain names and images of deceased people.
Please be aware that words and descriptions reflect the period in which the records were created and may be culturally insensitive or considered inappropriate today.
