              AU NBAC S35 · Serial · 1889 - 1983

Initially titled 'Amalgamated Society of Engineers Monthly Report' from 1889 to 1921. Following renaming of the Society to the Amalgamated Engineering Union (AEU) in 1922, the title changed to 'Amalgamated Engineering Union Monthly Report'. From 1935 the journal became the 'Monthly Journal and Report' and from 1949 simply 'Monthly Journal'. When the AEU amalgamated with the Boilers' and Blacksmiths' Society and the Sheet Metal Workers' Union in 1973 forming the Amalgamated Metal Workers' Union (AMWU) the Journal was renamed 'Amalgamated Metal Unions Monthly Journal', and in 1974 renamed again as 'Amalgamated Metal Workers' Union Monthly Journal'. AMWU amalgamated with the Shipwrights' Union in 1979 at which point the journal became the 'Amalgamated Metal Workers' and Shipwrights' Union Monthly Journal, and from July 1980 the 'AMWSU Quarterly Journal'.
