Includes First contact patrol in Upper Mendi: an oral history by Robin Mearns. Recollections of discussions with old men in the villages of Egari, Nene and Komia in Upper Mendi about first contact patrols in the area, including Pondo of Komia and Kumape of Egari Village. Robin Mearns was a researcher with IIED (International Institute for Environment and Development)in the 1980s. Also includes a copy of Saunders, H.M.
