Note
This glass plate negative was enclosed in an envelope numbered 42. The envelope was pre-printed with fields to describe the photograph and photographic processes. Only the subject was recorded- Subject: Nei Mara & F'at. It appears some plates may have been placed in incorrect envelopes. Title imposed. The Pacific Phosphate Company recruited Chinese and Japanese workers to work on Banaba, which at the time was usually called Ocean Island.
