Initially titled 'Amalgamated Society of Engineers Monthly Report' from 1889 to 1921. Following renaming of the Society to the Amalgamated Engineering Union (AEU) in 1922, the title changed to 'Amalgamated Engineering Union Monthly Report'. From 1935 the journal became the 'Monthly Journal and Report' and from 1949 simply 'Monthly Journal'. When the AEU amalgamated with the Boilers' and Blacksmiths' Society and the Sheet Metal Workers' Union in 1973 forming the Amalgamated Metal Workers' Union (AMWU) the Journal was renamed 'Amalgamated Metal Unions Monthly Journal', and in 1974 renamed again as 'Amalgamated Metal Workers' Union Monthly Journal'. AMWU amalgamated with the Shipwrights' Union in 1979 at which point the journal became the 'Amalgamated Metal Workers' and Shipwrights' Union Monthly Journal, and from July 1980 the 'AMWSU Quarterly Journal'.

Eureka Youth LeagueThe Labor Council of New South Wales set up the Labor Information and Research Bureau in 1921 to provide data on working conditions and employers. The Labor Information and Research Bureau published 'The Labor Monthly' from 1926 to 1929, at which point it became the Pan-Pacific Worker. Labor Council of New South WalesThe Labor Council of New South Wales organised a "Pan-Pacific Trade Union Conference' in September 1926. This conference resulted in the setting up of the Pan-Pacific Trade Union Secretariat (PPTUS) to which the Labor Council was then affiliated and to which many of the Labor Council leadership were part of. The PPTUS published a journal, the Pan-Pacific Worker, which by 1929 absorbed the Council's 'Labor Monthly' journal, (see 'In the Case of Oppression: the Life and Times of the Labor Council of New South Wales p. 200).
