The papers include leases and other agreements with tenants, minutes of meetings of tenant farmers and Farmers' Cooperative, and accounts and correspondence relating to valuation and sale of farms. There are also papers relating to the Ironbark Timber Company, the purchase of land from John Keyte, the Clyde Saw Milling and Shipping Company, land surveys, the loss of cheese in wrecks of SS Bodalla and SS Benandra, and timber felling on Bodalla Estate, Bumbo and Trunketabella. Included sales poster (C175) showing second subdivision of Bodalla Estate, lots 16-27, 1924 (31 x 50 cm) and map (C176) of Bodalla farms nos. 1-11 and village reserve 1893 (33 x 43 cm) which are now held separately and can be ordered using the map number.
The material consists mainly of volumes relating to the running of the Bodalla Estate, its farms, cheese and milk factories and co-operatives and the firms licensed to cut timber on the Estate. Included are letter books, journals, wages and cash books, day books, milk books and miscellaneous correspondence and papers (1894 - 1900) received by the resident manager. These were received by the ANU Archives from the Bodalla Office of the Company. Further material was received from the Sydney Office and these include the minute books of the Company, ledgers, journals, cash and account books. There is also material dealing with the work of the Executors and Trustees of the Will of Thomas Sutcliffe Mort.
